We are seeking a dynamic and driven Outside Sales Representative to represent and promote our product offerings within the Eastern Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming markets. This role requires a passionate individual who can build and maintain relationships with customers, municipal and consulting engineer specifiers, and distributors. The successful candidate will work from a home office, ideally located in Boise, Idaho, or Spokane, Washington, with regular travel required throughout the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate, develop, and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective customers across the assigned sales territory.
- Product Promotion: Actively promote the full product line to engineers, end users, and potential customers, ensuring all stakeholders are well-informed on product capabilities and benefits.
- Market Analysis: Continuously assess market trends, conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Sales Reporting: Generate and present regular reports, documents, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Competitive Intelligence: Monitor competitor products and market activities to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Presentations: Deliver impactful presentations to audiences on specific topics. Demonstrate proper product application and installation both in the field and office.
- Project Support: Collaborate with the credit department to gather necessary project information and facilitate the timely collection of funds.
- Technical Expertise: Assist customers in interpreting site drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure the optimal application of our products.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate customer complaints, manage issues, and provide timely solutions.
- Industry Representation: Represent the company at trade shows and industry meetings, promoting our products and services.
- Manage Customer: data, quotes, and opportunities effectively using Salesforce.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Communications, or a related field, or a minimum of 10 years' experience in the utility, water, wastewater, or construction industries may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proven track record of successful sales, with the ability to turn new clients into long-term, loyal customers.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong networks and leverage them for new business opportunities and referrals.
- Strong capability to establish and maintain professional relationships with customers and purchasing contacts.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a focus on delivering clear, concise, and persuasive presentations.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management.
- Valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle report required.
Additional Details:
- Primarily office-based with significant travel and occasional visits to construction job sites. Includes plant tours, including areas involving molten metal.
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, and light lifting (up to 30lbs).
- Full-time; typical working hours from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with occasional additional hours based on business needs.
- Frequent travel is required within the designated territory.
